aireg General Assembly elects Manfred Aigner as President for Science and Research

The General Assembly of the German initiative for alternative aviation fuels aireg e.V. unanimously elected Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Aigner as its new president for science and research during its meeting in Leipzig on November 20th. Manfred Aigner is director of the Institute of Combustion Technology at the German Aerospace Center DLR and succeeds Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Szodruch. Joachim Szodruch has been the founding president of the German aviation biofuel initiative in 2011 and was honored by the General Assembly for his outstanding commitment to aireg. Siegfried Knecht, Chairman of the Board: “Joachim Szodruch is rightly considered one of the founding fathers of aireg and has contributed substantially during the last three years to establishing aireg as the leading European aviation biofuels initiative. We are very grateful for his great dedication.”

The remaining board members were reelected by the General Assembly, Siegfried Knecht (Airbus) as Chairman of the Board, Joachim Buse (Lufthansa) as Vice-Chairman, Prof. Jürgen Raps as president for industry and aviation and Dr. Michael Engel (BDF). The two auditors of aireg, Stephan Weidenhiller (Condor) and Klaus Tropf (JatroSolutions), we also returned to office.
