Melanie Form, member of the aireg board and managing director, says about joining: “We are very pleased to have become a member of the “Fuelling Flight Initiative”. The use of sustainable electricity-based fuels and advanced biofuels based on the full range of available feedstocks as soon as possible is a significant element for the defossilization of the aviation industry. Together with the international partners, we can further contribute to support the market ramp-up of SAF in Europe.”
In the consensus statement published on 01 February 2022 in response to the EU Commission’s ReFuelEU proposal, the initiative proposes, among other things, more ambitious sub-quotas for e-kerosene and funding for the development of new advanced feedstocks.
