Frankfurt am Main and Berlin, May 15, 2024 – With the auditing and consulting firm PwC Germany, the aviation initiative aireg (Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany) has gained one of the leading professional services firms in Germany as a member.
PwC has been supporting companies and organizations in a wide range of industries and institutions for many years and assisting them with their transformation. The auditing and consulting firm is convinced that Germany can remain successful as a business location if transformation is seen as an opportunity for society, the economy, and the environment. PwC has therefore set itself the task of providing individual and competent support for the necessary changes in business and society and is advising its clients accordingly.
The aviation industry is also facing the challenge of a necessary sustainability transformation. With its expertise in the areas of decarbonization and ESG strategy, PwC is providing support on the path to net zero and the production and supply of SAF.
Dr. Jan H. Wille, PwC EMEA Aerospace & Defense Leader, says: “We are very pleased to be a member of aireg e.V.. The aviation industry is currently facing one of its greatest challenges – the long-term decarbonization of air traffic. Sustainable aviation fuels play a key role on this path. However, current industry dynamics show that the production capacities are not yet sufficient to achieve the net zero targets and that a holistic approach by all stakeholders in the ecosystem is therefore required. This makes international and national organizations such as aireg e.V., which offer opportunities for effective exchange and actively address the environmental challenges of aviation as well as the ramp-up of renewable fuels, all the more important.”
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ringbeck, aireg President Industry and Aviation, says about joining: “I am delighted to welcome PwC Germany and its strategy consultancy Strategy& as a new member. In order to achieve the climate goals of aviation, the development, production and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) must be driven forward. As a SAF location, Germany plays an important role here. As one of the leading management consultancies in Germany and internationally, PwC will make a valuable contribution to the successful development of Germany as a SAF location with its broad expertise in supporting the transformation of the energy sector and the introduction and implementation of ESG in German companies.”
